BC BLAST
GET READY, IT’S COMING!
As you have heard, St. Mark’s will be hosting its annual FREE Community Carnival (BC BLAST) on Saturday, June 12, from 3 – 6 PM. Since St. Mark’s is celebrating its 150th anniversary, the BC in BC BLAST this year stands for Birthday Celebration BLAST. There will be free food (hot dogs, French fries, snow cones, popcorn), free drinks, and lots of games with prizes. There will also be a dunking tank, a moon walk, face painting, and cake walks. Also featured this year, are talents of St. Mark’s members and friends. Linda Keller will be sharing a few of her teddy bears and telling a teddy bear story. Joanne Warrick will be performing with her dog. Bobby Wehner will be playing/singing a few songs for us. But we are looking for more people/groups to share their talents. Do you sing, do karate, dance, yodel, juggle, play an instrument, etc.? If so, please consider sharing your talent at BC BLAST.
As you can see, YOUR help is needed. Lots of volunteers are needed to set up, cook the food, work the games, help with registration, share talents, and give donations to help with the costs of the carnival. Donations of hot dogs and bottled water, as well as monetary donations are needed. Donated hot dogs should be put in the kitchen frig and marked BC BLAST. Bottled water may be put under the coat racks in the Welcome Center. Monetary donations may be put in the offering plate and marked “BC BLAST.” We are also looking for people to loan us canopies and children’s riding toys (a race track) for the carnival.
PLEASE make plans now to be a part of St. Mark’s Birthday Celebration on Saturday, June 12. All volunteers are invited to join us at 6 PM in the courtyard for a “wrap up.”
In case of rain, BC BLAST will be postponed till the fall. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Janet Lehman at 653-4189 or lehmanfamily@comcast.net.
