At St. Mark's children are important to us because children are important to God. Jesus himself demonstrated God's love for children by welcoming them with open arms. He prayed for them, and even used children as examples to his followers of how they should love and trust God.
OUR PURPOSE
St. Mark's Children's Ministry is a family, united in our love for Jesus Christ and one another. We want to become a significant and relevant influence in the lives of children that we meet and care for, and to give support and encouragement to the families of those children.
Our ministry involves experiences of joy-filled worship, serving others in love, growing together in our faith, and sharing our story with others. It is our purpose to create and become leaders for God in all that we do, in all that we say, and wherever we go.
OUR VISION - To help children develop a personal relationship with God.
Selection of Programs & Curriculum is based on our purpose & vision, as well as the following goals:
- To give children opportunities to use the Bible each week
- To provide time and a supportive atmosphere during which children can develop relationships with each other and adults
- To help all children feel a sense of community
- To involve children in worship experiences that are age-appropriate
- To involve children in worship experiences that are intergenerational
- To encourage children to apply what they learn in the Bible to their own lives
- To engage children in service projects
- To provide opportunities for children to pray and share their faith with others
- To partner with parents by providing information and follow-up activities related to what is covered each Sunday
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY SCHEDULE
ALL SUNDAYS: Nursery & Toddler Care, room 200, both 9:15 & 10:45 services. Parents go directly to that room to drop off & pick up their children.
- 9:15 -- Sunshine Alley Small Groups -- Kids will meet in small groups by their grade level to explore the Bible in a game-type format.
- 10:45 -- SHINE Worship -- Kids in Kindg. through 5th grade meet in the Children's Worship Room for a large group worship experience
- GOD FOLLOWERS -- 3rd-5th graders meet the 4th Sunday of every month at 10:45 to plan and become involved activities that help them live out their faith
2nd Sunday of Each Month are "Family Worship Sundays" - Children will worship with their families in the sanctuary for all services. Nursery, toddler & preschool care will still be provided in those classrooms.
