PRAYER AT ST. MARK'S

For the Holy Spirit to be able to operate, it is essential that the people involved own the vision and the method toward realizing the vision. People will need to be mature in their faith, committed to Christ and His church (in this case, St. Mark's), and committed to working along side others in this common goal.

The leadership at St. Mark's have identified eleven core values - "…foundational values upon which we base our ministries and mission. They express the very heart of our congregation." Prayer is listed as the third core value and I must say I am excited to be called here to work with each of you in fleshing out all that that can mean.

I am Jill MacKenzie the Prayer Ministry Team Leader here at St. Mark's. I am excited as well as very honored to have this opportunity to work with each of you. God has a unique plan for this church body. He calls each of us to use the gifts He has given us to make that plan become a reality.

Listed below are some ideas for prayer teams we need here at St. Mark's. Contact me if you are interested in a particular team or if you have some ideas of other prayer concerns to be lifted up.

  • Prayer Leadership Team - this team would be the one that would be looking forward to what the needs for prayer are and to be sure that all that we do is biblical.
  • Worship Preparation Team - to pray throughout the sanctuary each Sunday morning, praying for those who will come; for those who will lead the worship services.
  • Prayer Partners - to pray after each service for those coming forward
  • Prayer - for those at home/in hospital who need prayer - laying on of hands
  • Prayer Evangelism - joining the Prayer for Evangelism movement in Lancaster
  • Prayer Team - praying for the leadership/staff
  • Prayer Team - for the Discipleship Launch Team
  • Virtual Prayer Team - homebound prayers praying for the life and people of St. Marks.

In the future look to this page to see what exciting directions He is taking us as we listen for his voice, as He leads us to build a foundation for prayer at St. Mark's as this church becomes a "House of Prayer" ... (Mark 11:17) , a place to come for direction, His Wisdom and Peace.
