Curriculum
The focus at Shining Stars is on the gifts a child carries inside, and how these gifts connect each person to God.

• Literacy and Kindergarten readiness
• Parents/caregivers are encouraged to visit and participate in the classroom
• Plus positive, integrated learning with children from S. June Smith.

The S. June Smith Center focuses on serving preschool children with special needs, always with a mission to help find the gift in every child. As a family support service, S. June Smith provides early intervention resources for children with developmental needs and their caregivers. An important part of the program is daily interaction with typical preschool children.

Mission Statement
Shining Stars Nursery School is dedicated to the glory of God by helping children increase their knowledge of God and helping them experience God in the world around them. We believe preparations for both school and life is a joint effort between parents and school. We believe that together we will help children grow in knowledge and experience, learn about friendship and respect for others, and to lift their eyes to new horizons.

Teachers

• Certified teachers and teacher's assistants provide leadership and direction for each class.
• Open house before the start of school term
• Conferences with parents twice a year track child's progress

Schedule
Classes run from September to May

• Three year old classes - Tuesday/Thursday - 9:30am-12:00pm

• Three year old classes - Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 9:30am-12:00pm
  Integrated class with S. June Smith Center

• Four year old classes - Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 9:15am-11:45am

• Four year old classes - Monday/Wednesday/Friday - 12:30pm-3:00pm

Safety
All nursery school children are dropped off and picked up inside the classroom where the class meets.

To ensure each child's safety, only designated individuals will be permitted to pick up each child at the end of class. Please notify the teacher of any changes in that designation, by advance notice where possible.

Each child must be immunized before entering school. We request that you consult your family physician concerning any contagious diseases before sending your child to school.

Tuition

• $72 per month for 2 days a week classes
• $92 per month for 3 days a week classes
• Partial scholarships are available
